Revelation originated from multiple versions of the D7Peacemaker Storyline. Trying to make something that people enjoyed yet, I enjoyed working on. So I tried to make something people could reference from, almost like a remake. So I thought of the movies I watched on youth night at church about the apocalypse, and then I thought, hey...maybe I could remake a show like that, or rather...work on my rendition of how a physical apocalypse would unfold, and thus I have Revelation.
You may notice the Pilot Episode 1 "Head of the Dragon" is very different from the final Episode 1 "Have you seen me?" and the reasoning is that the pilot followed the original D7Peacemaker concept very closely and only slightly touched on the Revelation premise.
After creating the pilot we took it around the country as well as showing it online and the feedback we collected told us that, people really liked the Revelation storyline, and were interested in the D7Peacemaker "Paramilitary" aspects. So I decided to shelve most of the D7Peacemaker content and push into the new Revelation concept. Heavy focus on the clues and less on the character complexity and technology in regards to the previous D7Peacemaker project.
The Challenge
In itself, Revelation is not meant to detail how I actually believe the bible describes the end of this world, rather it is a creative attempt at illustrating some fascinating imagery from one of the most intriguing books in the bible. Each episode is based on actual passages from the bible, as I do not create passages nor add scenarios to enhance the experience.
Overall I feel the greatest challenge is hiding the clues around in an episode and bringing them to an obvious close, which is detailed in the bible. Sort of like, in what way am I going to draw the characters to the same conclusion, but differently everytime.
I think the second largest challenge was getting away from the D7Peacemaker concept and letting this story live itself out more
